I have a legitimate account through Adelphia cable. However, I hate paying box rental fees. I'd rather put the rent money towards ownership. Anyways, when I opened my account I asked if I could buy my own box and not pay their rental fees. After all, the fee is seperate from the service fee. I was told I could.
Well, today I received my DCT6412 in the mail and as I expected, it just said that this channel is not yet available. So I went into my local Adelphia office and asked them what I needed to do to get service through my box. They said they can't do it for billing reasons. Their billing system doesn't allow a box to be connected without a rental fee. So if I wanted my own box to be connected, I'd have to pay a rental fee.
Do any of you know what I can do to my box or tell Adelphia to get my box working?
