Amplifier affecting neighbors? Can't Post

I have Comcast Digital cable. I have several splitters. When I put in the last splitter I lost some of my HD channels. So I installed a Motorola Booster.

Then the cable company called and said they were getting to much of some frequency on their cable and they installed something (an attenuator I guess) on my house drop.

I have now removed the booster (SD is now awful too) and anticipate the cable company removing the attentuator next week or so.

Do RF amps feed noise back into the source? Or do I have a bad booster? Or is there something I can install with the booster to block whatever is heading back out the source?

Maybe I should install the booster downstream of a splitter or two -- not the best for my S/N but may be acceptable to both Comcast and me?

Please advise.

Thank you.

Is the amp you are installing a 2 way amp?? Is it amplifying signal on the return path???? This may be your issue. You could be killing the return path on the cable system with your amp.

I would have the cable company come in ang get your system working correctly on a service call.
