Coaxial Cable Can't Post

Hello,

I'm going to be buying new cable TV wiring for my home, and I was wondering what I should get, where to get it, and what is the best brand and all that info. I know RG6 quad-shield is probably the best you could get for digital cable. Does anyone know where I can get the cable? I was going to order Monster cable on the net, but that would require me to put the ends on, and I don't want that hassle. On other forums, people say try to stay away from wal-mart and others. What about home depot? I avoided them becuase I've never heard of "Black Point Products" and there cable doesnt have specs. Circuit City sells Terk RG6 quad shield, for about $30, I don't want to get the cheap crappy stuff, so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

You are correct you want quad shield RG6 and Belden cable is what most of the cable companies use. You should be able to go to an electrical supplier in your area and have them order it for you. Regarding fittings you will need to place the fittings on the ends of the cable with any good brand of wire that you want installed to length. I would recommend that you get the wire and wire your house then call in a service call and tell them you need a connector on the end of your wire and need a service tech to come out. Then they can come out and install a proper connector with the proper tools. To many times folks buy good wire and waste it by using the wrong connectors and improper tools to crimp them.

Good Luck
