Dog chewed up COAX cable Can't Post

Hello, my dog chewed up my COAX cable that connects to my TV. It is not completely severed, only the rubber is missing. However, I can see some metal and a few strips are jutting out.

I can still watch TV, but there is a slight "noise" on the image.

Is there any way I can repair it using household items? I will only buy a new cord as a last resort, because it is very long and it may be expensive.

Thank you

Jeff

You can try electrical tape. If it's not to severed, that should eliminate some noise. If that doesn't work, you can cut off the severed portion, and reconnect the connector (depending on the connector). If you know a place (electronics distributor) that sells F connectors, you could just get a new one and connect it.

The dog has damaged the shielding of the cable, you will need to get a new jumper. You have signal getting into the line (ingress) and signal leaking out (egress). This will couse an issue with the cable systems leakage compliance and your service. A cable tech on a service call should replace this for you for free.
