How to tell if you can use a chipped NTL box - HELP Can't Post

Hello,

New to all this but a friend has offered me his chipped NTL box for some cash and i'm about to move flat - anyone know how I can tell if the flat i'm moving into is one where a chipped NTL box can be used? Like, if I know the area is covered by NTL but I can't see any unusual television connections (just usual coax ariel) is that a problem? Does the flat need to have been connected to cable for me to get cable? What could/should I do to use a chipped NTL box if the flat isn't connected? Help me please!

Thankyou all,

Androo.

Hi there,

the only way you can use your ntl box is if there is allready a ntl line in place ( not the standard aerial connection)

The only way to have one installed is to subscribe to ntl officialy and they will wire you up with a box.

You can then decide wether you want to cancel your subscription to ntl later, they will then leave you with the ntl aerial/line installed and u can use your box still even if u are cut off.

hope this helps :)
