Losing HD signal after splitting Can't Post

Ok, I'm getting HD service thru Comast. When I try to split the signal coming in, I get bad pixelation on my HD channels. The other digital channels come in fine and all the analog are ok as well. I've got a 5Mhz to 2.3Ghz 2-way splitter so I would think that would be ok. Any ideas?

Well most cable networks broadcast HDTV at a lower db level, than standard broadcast, so if your cable company did not account for this in there combining network at the headend they may be at a lower level and you may just be getting enough signal without the splitter, when you add the splitter you insert 3.5db of loss. You could try installing a 10db gain amp before the splitter or contact your cable company to test the signal.
