PPV cheating.... Can't Post

I decided to try something the other day and I want to know if it actually works or not.

Ok....I have Time Warner Digital Cable. I ordered a PPV show before it came on. Now once it's ordered and it starts you cannot cancel it. So I just keep the cancel button up untill the show starts then I cancel the event but I still get the signal and to watch the show. My cable bill hasn't came in yet so I do not know if this works. I do know that when I pressed the order button it asked me if I wanted to order it even though I was already watching it.

So has anyone tried this or know if it works cheating the "system"?

i don't know about that, but if youget one of those scrambler/filters and put it on your line, then you can order all the ppv you want and they never get the billing info from the box. it never shows on your bill. beware though, your box holds the info for like 30 days, so if you turn in your box, like i did, with tons of ppv on it, you will be billed.

Honestly there is no way for you to reset the box you can put a filter to prevent the ppv's returning to the system and being billed to us because the box automatically unloads the ppvs you have ordered every 24hrs...now if the dont have anywhere to go they stay and accumulate in the system...only thing that really works to unload the box is if you have a nice computer with a good tv/video graphic card you can hook up your cable box to it when the cycle hits it will unload into your computer...you can also check on the box how many ppvs you have or box has stored so far...since its last download...

Why not just be honest anyway? If you can't afford the lifestyle, maybe there's a reason for it. Your better off anyway. Even though I work for a cable company, there's only demoralized crap on anyway. Oh well.

I would like to thank all of you for trying to screw over the companies that I work for to provide a living for me and my family. I appreciate the fact that you are cheating and steeling from them and preventing them from providing raises and promotions due to the money they are loosing. I hope some day someone like you comes to your work or business and cheats and steels from you as well. Us cable guys don’t want to be the only ones getting screwed over. ;) Love Ya. Wink

It happens to me all the time. I am an ER doc. and about 25% of the people I see are illegal aliens who don't pay, and we have no way to pursue them for payment. Do 25% of your customer's not pay?

What a good sport, that's the attitude!Crazy Ya know, if I made over $100,000 a year, I think I'd be happy for what I have. You aren't even kind of in the same boat, over inflated costs of services that are "The ER". Making under $30,000 like most cable guys, every dollar counts. It's easy for you to quote a 25% failure to pay, but working in auditing, I know about 25% of communities are hooked up illegallly. That doesn't even count the premium channels being stolen on top of the standard programming. Then, group all those people together with the morons that do the computer hacked cable box descrambler programs and our favorite guest at the top of the page and all his friends who like to cheat the system and I think we have all the illegal immigrants beat. The FCC wouldn't take such aggressive measures to punish theft of services of cable systems if it wasn't a serious problem (Up to 2 years in jail and $200,000 fine). So, I hope you enjoy your million dollar home and mercedes benz and your house boat and your $2,000 suits and blah bla blah bla blah, and quit complaining.
