Question about Guide Plus Can't Post

I have an RCA TV that has built in Guide Plus. I've called RCA - they cannot answer my questions - I tried calling Guide Plus and I could not get an answer... so, hopefully, someone out here knows.

Every night my TV receives updates to the Guide Plus grid. I happen to live between NY and PA - so I get two of each network... two CBS channels, two NBC channels, etc. But when I view my Guide Plus, it only shows one NBC and one FOX and one CBS... even though its on two different channels. If I want to see what's on FOX in NY, I'm fine --- but I can't see what's on in the PHiladelphia market... and, although, MOST of the time the shows are identicle, they are not always... its just annoying.

One more thing... you can order the channel grid by: Sports, Movies, News... but not apparently by channel... in other words, the grid is in no particular order... it shows FOX, then ABC, then NBC... even thought in channel order it would be CBS (2), CBS (3), NBC (4), FOX (5).... etc... anyone know if I can order the grid by channel number?

Re: [doogie] Question about Guide Plus [In reply to] Can't Post

I just want to say that I have a RCA with guide plus and have had the same frustrations. I can find no one to call and no real help on the WEB either. Every of often my guide plus loses it programming totally and then it magically comes back.

Re: [Guest] Question about Guide Plus [In reply to] Can't Post

I started having the same problem in the Plano (North Dallas) area ... we had 2 PBS stations and somebody coded them BOTH as "KERA" instead of KERA and KDTN. The result was seeing only the "first" KERA (which was KDTN channel 2) on the screen and seeing the programming for the second one (the "real" KERA) in the GuidePlus. Apparently SOMEBODY has to code up the zip code tables and channel maps and that may have been "outsourced" to someone who is not properly trained. When our PBS station sold KDTN the table was never updated. For the past 2 days I've been "missing" refreshes which seems to happen when the time zones get ready to change from CDT to CST or CST to CDT. BTW my TV is a Mitsubishi that starting generating "bogus" VCR+ codes on the Guide Plus after Y2K ... 6 months after we bought it.
