Question about a particular cable-splitter...

My cable technician came out and split my main cable line (in the living room) to a TV, a Digital cable box in another room, and to my cable modem. He used an 'Antronix' 5-1000MHz 3-way splitter. On the splitter itself, it has two outputs that say -7dB, and a third output that says -3.5dB. The two -7dB outputs are being used for the TV and for the digital cable box in the other room, and the -3.5 dB output is being used for the cable modem. I guess my question is, which outputs, between the -7dB and -3.5dB, is providing a better/clearer/stronger signal? Which output is "better" between the two? I don't really know what -7dB or -3.5dB means when it comes to splitters, but I assumed that -7dB means an overall "better" signal. Would my broadband connection benefit if I switched it from the -3.5dB output to the -7dB output, or vice-versa -- would my digital cable box benefit by using the 3.5dB output instead of the -7dB one?
