Using RG6 cable, 60% shielding, for every 100 feet of cable, you will loose 7 - 10db of signal. Every splitter has a loss, anywhere from 3.5db on a 2 way to 12.5db on an eight way, so if you are going to wire a really long outlet, make sure you get the splitters etup right to give the long outlet the most signal you can. I work for Time Warener Cable, and have been on the field for some time. I try to help out when I can!
