moving cable tv box Can't Post

thanks for reading my post

I have a cable tv question that someone might know the answer to.

If you have 2 cable tv boxes on your account (which uses co axel cable
) and you take one of these boxes to another house which also has the
same cable tv service connected to it and then plug in box , will the cable tv
company be able to tell that the box is being used at a different
address to the registered address? Or do they just get a signal to
say that it is active (without knowing where it is being used),

thanks

West

Well that depends on the type of box you have and there cable system. If it is a standard cable box then the answer is no, If it is a digital cable box and your cable system has fiber optic nodes the cable company can pole the cable box's in a specific node and find out what ones are there. This is not often done as it takes some time and effort. And you are paying for the service on the additional box in most systems.
