Re: [Guest] telewest cable [In reply to] Can't Post

Is yours analogue cable?

Mine is and has been playing up for over a week now - it seems most of the channels have gone out of tune except the terrestrial channels and a handful of odd cable channels.

Have you managed to find out what the problem is yet and if it is going to be resolved?

I have a feeling they've begun decommissioning the analogue service. I'll be interested to hear your thoughts.

Jason.

If you're box is permanently chipped I think you've got problems.

I'm no expert on this but rather than have my box permanently chipped I opted for a crocodile clipped device which fits over the chip and knocks it out temporarily, thus allowing all the channels to show.

After a month or so the box resets and goes pink at which point I have to repeat the process. I believe it will be at this point that I'll be able to retrieve the channels.

The channels are definitely still there, as if I re-cook the chip at the monent the lost channels briefly re-appear for a few seconds before settling back to their f**ked up state.
