Marketing Project: Technology Advice

K guys, this is a long shot but im gonna give it a try and see who will lend a helping hand.
I am currently in an Intro to Marketing course in University, and the course allows a very fun and experimental project.
The prof has stated that the sky is the limit in terms of innovation and ideas, so my group came to the consensus of creating a "Monitor suit".
The general concept is that there are panels which create the image of whatever you want to wear, whether it be a $5000 suit or a $10 pair of trunks.
Now looking at the types of technology that are at hand in currently, where do you guys think you can begin. I want to keep touch with what is available right now, but simply embellish and add possible future innovations that would actually make the suit work.
What type of projection, resolution, colour palettes etc, certain things that you would need to talk about to make the general public understand the functionality and capabilities of the suit.
Remember that there is no limit on how much you can extrapolate from the current types of technology. (I'm thinking that the "types of clothes" will be on a small chip that will attach to the article of panel clothing, and then project the information that is stored on the chip)
