Troubleshooting a tv

I am a student of a reputable career school where i am persuing a career in tv repair.I HAVE LEARNT A LOT but i am unable to troubleshoot without the aid of a schematic,a pictorial diagram,a signal generator ora scope
How do i approach this problem?;there is no visible raster,yet the audio level is normal.
All i have is a digitalmultimeter(DMM) and some troubleshooting skill.
Need help!!
