Mitsubishi Projection T.V. shuts off

Hey Folks!
I have a 1989 Mitsubishi 54 inch projection television. When I turn it on, it stays on, and there is a full screen displayed, for about 30 seconds. Then it shuts off. Sometimes it shuts off as soon as I turn it on. I have it at the house I am moving to, and there is no cable or vcr,... yet. Do I have to have an input for there to be a picture, or is there something else wrong? This T.V. once belonged to a large corp., and was used here and there since 1989.ANY suggestion would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,
