Remote Control Can't Post

Have a Symphonic TV/VCR combo...remote will not work...changed batteries...seems hot but still won't work...no obstructions...tv controls work manually..thanx

Could be in the TV IR receiver. Try unplugging
the TV for a couple of minutes, and try it again.
To test the Remote, tune your radio to the bottom of the
AM band, turn up the vol control, point the Remote at the radio
antenna area, and slowly move the tuning control up the band.
while pressing any button on the Remote.
You shouldh hear a fairly loud digital pattern.

Yup..appears the remote is operating...now I'm guessing the IR receiver is something I shouldn't fool with?...if not, I'll probably just let it go since it's not the main unit around...thanks much for the quick response...I appreciate it...

Well it still could be the R/C but usually if you can get a code from it, it is OK.
Did you try resetting the tv by unplugging it?

Yes I did unplug it...pretty much resigned to a bad IR receiver...thanks for the input...

Well I would try to borrow another R/C, perhaps a universal one,
just to be sure it is not the R/C. I don't think that the IR receiver
goes bad that often. There isn't much to it.
