5 hd plasma bar setup install Can't Post

Hi all,
Feedback appreciated on my project. Im a little new to this stuff but here goes. Let me know if im missing stuff or any advise to help speed up my installation process. Thanks
so far i have:
1 dish 5lnb ka ku new with supporting brackets to support weight
5 hd directtv h20 boxes
5 50ft component cables
5 50" plasmas tv
1 multi switch to support hd and upto 8 split
my goal is to have all tvs channel independent and local and hd sports programming through direct tv, also access to special events in hd for the bar. my concern is im not sure which way to point dish while putting in the new dish ( i have standard def direct tv now ) , and can i just use the existing coax now? )

thanks

The new ka/ku really should be installed professionally because you need a sat finder / meter to find all 5 sats and must be dead on aimed at them. You must also use compression coax connectors on every coax, you also need a certain muti switch.

If don't want Directv to know about the install, try hiring a sat installer and paying cash for the installation.

I would consider using HDMI cables and not component video and not 50 ft runs, run the coax to the sat box and locate that closer to the plasma .It will give you a better picture on the plasmas.

Direct tv knows im doing this, just trying to avoid the cost of them sending a install out, $400-$500. I didnt want the boxes near the TVs, so I im wiring through the ceiling into a small room near the bar where I plan to stack the boxes. I do understand now that hdmi is best, and longer cables degrade, but im going for the clean look.
Compression connectors? Is this not already used on the SD direct tv?
I was thinking about just bringing the box and small tv up to the roof to ensure signal strength. Is that a good idea?
Thanks Tank!

There used to be a how to install the new ka/ku dish show on channel 578, but it is now blocked to everyone but Directv employees.I am not employee or installer.

I watched the show and the ka/ku cannot be installed without a bird dog sat meter to find the sats. You have to make many adjustments to get the all the birds. It way more complicated than installing the the round or oval 3 lnb dishs.

Some coax had crimp on coax connectors and the ka/ku must have compression type connectors.

You must use a ka/ku multi switch such as-
DirecTV - Zinwell WB68 Wide Band 6x8 Multi-Switch

http://www.2000networks.com/...inwell_wb68_6x8.html

Here is a compression connector
http://www.sadoun.com/...fect/Digicon-DS6.htm

and a crimp on -

I would suggest you let someone that has done ka/ku installs before do it, any bar customers or friends that are installers, that would do it cheaper for you ?

Good Luck and if I can answer more questions , feel free to ask .
