Adding an extra Reciever to my system Can't Post

I currently have two direct tv systems (leased from direct tv), and was wondering if I bought a used direct tv receiver off of ebay can I hook it up and use it on my current system without having to sign another lease or anything?

Not sure of current D* policy now, but you used to be able to buy used receivers and add them to your account. It required a new access card from D* for $20.And no new commitment.

It usually cheaper to get a new receiver and card, but it does require a one year commitment.

Thanks for replying to my question. I have a follow up. Can the access card in one brand of receiver work in any receiver, or are the card specific receiver.
Basically, I have an older direct tv receiver I use for tailgating at football games. I was wondering if I could just take the card out of my current receiver and use it in my old one without unhooking my new receiver from everything.

Access cards are "married" to receivers. You used to / can call and transfer an access card from one receiver to another. Not sure of current policy.

Access cards work in all Directv receivers regradless of the maker of the receiver.

The receiver the card comes out of is then out of service.

I sounds like it is going to be more of a pain than I though. I was just hoping I could pop the access card out of my new receiver and use it in my old one for convenience sake on game days. What I might do is see if I can activate my old receiver for a few months, just during football season. Thanks for the help.
