Big Install Problem - need help Can't Post

We just had Direct TV installed today on 3 tv's. After about two hours, we had no local stations and only about half of the other stations. We have spent hours on the phone with Direct TV and Ironwood (the company who installed) and they keep telling us they can't fix it until at least Tuesday. When we called Direct TV, we were told to unplug the Direct TV box and now we cannot get anything on those two tv's. We are stuck on the installation page. Needless to say,we are not happy campers with Direct TV right now. They are admitting that the dish was probably not installed right but too bad, can't do nothing for you now. Does anyone have any ideas how we can at least get by the installation page where it says it's looking for satellites so we can at least get some channels. If there's a way we can fix this ourselves, I'd love to. Pirate

First check all the connectors on the ends of the coax wires.Make sure they are tight and connected tightly.

If you have a round dish, then you have 2 lines that come off the dish and go to a multi-switch ( splittter) and you get 3 lines coming of the multi-switch to your sets.

Try bypassing the muti-switch and just run one coax cable to one tv,if that gives you all the channels then the problem is the multi-switch.Then you run the other coax cable from the dish to a 2nd tv,until the service tech arrives next week.

The problem sounds like the multi-switch went bad.

Also check the dish to make sure it can't move if you get access to it.
