Big prob I need your help Can't Post

Ok so I just spent $3000 on a nice flat screen. Direct tv was supose to be here bewteen 5-8pm today to put up the new satelite for the hd. Well they come at 4hrs early when im not here. When I get home im told they said they couldnt do it because there is no line of site. I live in a wooded area. Well I call up dtv and go ape shit. Im pretty upset because I just spent $3000 on a tv and cant even get hd channels. Thats the main reason I got the tv. Long story short the install company is suposed to be calling me monday to set up an apointment for a supervisor to come out here. Has anybody had this problem and is there anything I can do? Im going crazy and feel like I just wasted 3gs. I have been waiting 2weeks for them to come out here and I was so amped up.

Worst case - just return your tv set, you usually have a 30 day return policy.
Go to this web page and read the information.

When you find which direction you need to point the compass, check it out. Are there trees in the way? If there trees in the line of sight- can you find a new line of sight by putting the sat dish higher in the air using a tv tower ?

Can you find a line of sight by mounting the dish on a pole ( 4- 8 ft high ) somewhere in your yard ? I prefer a pole mount because it is likely to get hit by lightning or a wind gust knocking the dish out of alignment because the HD sat dish is wider than the old 18" round sat dish.

These options will cost you extra $$$ to have it installed.

I guess im just going to have to wait for them to come out here again and discuss it with them. They are sending a supervisor out. Im willing to do anything within reason to make this work seeing that I already spend 3gs on a tv.
