CAN NOT RECORD W/VCR.	Can't Post

Can not record a future timed program w/my Direct TV HD Receiver(Toshiba HD TV & Toshiba VCR Record & Play/DVD Player). HDMI cable between TV and Direct TV Receiver. The recorder will kick in at the right pre-set time, but only records "No Video Signal". This actually makes sence to me. When you leave home, you shut off your TV & the Direct TV Receiver, which means there would be no signal being received at the time the VCR kicks in. DO NOT WANT TO LEAVE THE TV & DIRECT TV ON FOR A DAY OR MORE. Did try leaving just the DIRECT TV on, but that did not work either. The VCR records fine w/TV & Direct TV on. There has to be a way!

Try adding a s-video cable from D* sat box to the vcr .
Then the vcr should be able to record the channel the sat box has on .
Leave the hdmi connected to the tv.
