Daytime repception problem Can't Post

I am having a daytime reception problem, especially on the even transponders. I had a problem once before where the peak signal strength would be in the low 80's and the actual signal strength would vary from 70 to 80 and then occasionally go to zero then back to 80. Just enough to cause the picture to pixilate. I got rid of that problem by adding a ground wire from my multi switch to the ground in my electric box.
Now I have a new problem. In the daytime only on clear sunny warm days with the wind blowing, the picture is again pixilating mostly on the even transponders. This time the peak signal strength also varies with the actual signal strength. both floating from the mid 40's upto the low 80's, and then the actual goes to zero momentarially, the peak never goes to zero. Then in the evenings everything is OK. signal strength is in the low 80's and holds pretty steady.
There are trees all around but I do have a good opening where the satilite is pointed. Another question is the satilite is 10 years old and the paint is peeling off the concave surface. I brushed the loose paint off but there is a bare aluminum spot just a little off center, could that affect reception?

If you discount the coax from the dish into the multiswitch.
Then disconnect one coax coming out of the multi switch to your sat receiver and connect them with a coax coupler ( a few dollars at radio shack, best buy)
If you have no problems, then you know the multi switch is ok.
What state do you live in? sat signal in the 70 -80 range it is low.The signal is lost when it drops below 70.In Florida my signal strenghth is 98-100 on evens and 90-96 on odds.

get a signal meter you can buy them for less than $10 on ebay and peak out your dish the paint chipping won't make any difference if that doesn't help you might want to change to a 36in dish an old primestar dish is good
