DirecTV HD signal strength Can't Post

Need some help or advise. Live in Houston TX, just had DirecTV HD system installed witch included the Dish (3 lnb with integrated multi-switch) Samsung SIR-TS 360 HD receiver.

With the old non HD dish and receiver the signal strength was in the mid to upper 90's. Now that the HD dish and receiver are installed the best signal strength is mid 70's at best. The DirecTV tech said because I'm splitting between 3 satellites (not aimed at one only) that the signal was a best average of the 3 different satellites and I can't expect to receive mid 90's signal strength any longer and were I'm at is fine.

Something doesn't seem right with this logic, any advice or help would be great.

thanks

danny

Sounds like he was in a hurry to do a install.

Once your signal drops below I think 60 you lose the signal.

If you had 90's before you should get 90's on that sat 101.

Go to www.dbsforum.com they can tell you how to tweek the dish to get higher signal strenghth.Or call Directv or the install company and complain about the installtion.

OK, DirecTV came back out to the house and the tech was competent. Used the meter and readjusted the dish. Big difference, 101 all transponders are 95 or above, many in the high 90's. 113 is outstanding also, high 80's to mid 90's. 110 is also mostly in the mid 90's.

What a difference and it took all of about 20 mins to fine tune. Life is good.
