DirectTV HD Multiswitch problems Can't Post

I have two systems at my house, one in the living room and one in the bedroom. First I started getting bad reception, ie blocky images etc, then the recievers started to freeze every now and then. Now it'll work for an hour or two before coming up with a "Channel not found" or "Multiswitch" error. If I reset one, then the other one begins to do it.

The weird part is, if I unplug the satellite feed from the back of a messed up receiver, as soon as I plug it back in I have reception again.

Has anyone here ever heard of something like this, because I've done a few self-installs before and I've never had this happen.

This one was done by DTV, not me.

Since you only have two receivers, do you have a multi switch ? If so why ?

I didn't do the install, but I know I don't have a separate multi switch. I think the dish has a multiswitch built in, either way that's the error message I get - "Check Multiswitch" or some such, and I lose half my channels. If I unplug the feed from the back of one reciever, as soon as I plug it back in all my channels come back. Absolutely infuriating.

I would check the coax connectors, then find and bypass that multiswitch.

Just run a direct coax line from sat dish to each receiver.

The last option would be a bad lnb , then it usually cheaper to just replace the whole dish.

Good luck
