DirectTV Tivo and 5 LNB Can't Post

I have a DirectTV HD DVR (with Tivo) and a 3LNB dish so I only get the premium HD channels (no Local HD channels because of the 3 LNB). I was told by Direct TV that if I get a 5 LNB dish, I could get the HD local channels but the receiver I have is not compatible with the 5 LNB. Is this true? Does it mean I wouldn't be able to watch the HD local channels or just not be able to record them. I think the HD DVR with Tivo is not compatible with MPEG4 or something.

I'm OK with watching the Local HD channels and not be able to record them if that's the only solution. I should still be able to record the other HD channels like ESPN-HD.

Thanks

There is a new HD DVR ( HR 20-700 ) with mpeg 4 coming out in some cities now.
So it will not be long before you can get the new one.
You will need a new mpeg 4 capable receiver to view the HD locals.
But your other dvr will still be able to view the other channels.

But you could have them run 3 coax lines to the same room from the new spaceway dish
1- the new receiver and the other two coax lines to your old dvr/tivo.
