Direct TV and the Weather Can't Post

Well, football season is rolling around again, and once again I am being enticed into going with Direct TV in order to have the Sunday NFL Ticket.

I have managed to resist this in years past due to someone I have known always complaining that rain would invaraibly, frequently disrupt their signal. Well, I haven't known anybody who's had it for a few years.

Can everyone give me their opinion on this?

I don't know how this can improve, as I'm guessing it is the small dish.

Re: [willdresslar] Direct TV and the Weather [In reply to] Can't Post

I have had Directv for 8 years and the longest I lost a signal for due to weather was 20 minutes.

I live in Florida and when it rains down here,it is like a wall of water comming down.It rains for about 30 minutes every afternoon in the summer.

Loss of signal is no problem,it goes out for 1-2 minutes.

During the hurricanes last year I lost power before I lost the sat signal.

Remember the storm has to come from the southwest to lose a signal.

The dish is aimed in that direction,so if the storm comes from any other direction it dos not get between the satelite signal and the dish.

I love the NFL Sunday Ticket. If you are pro football fan it is a must have every Sunday.

If your friend is having so many problems tell to check the connectors on the rg-6 ( coax wire) to see if they are getting any moisture in them causing a loss of signal.

Also tell him to check his signal strenghth, and make sure it is at least 85+.

Just use the sat reciever and enter the menu and go to install.
