After three weeks of evaluation it sure looks like dish puts direct to shame. Both cost and service.

If you a big sports fan than Directv is the choice. Dish isn't big on sports channels and the cost.
For HD -Dish has the most channels for now, Directv will launch a new sat in June and by Dec will lead in the number of channels.

Check both channel line ups and see which channels you want and then compare prices. Both have all the big networks , but each has a few channels unique from the other.

Dish needs two sat dishs for some channels, not sure which ones. But if two dishs is a problem I would ask about it before you sign up.

I have had Directv for 10 years because of the sports programming, but I do not have anything againest Dish Network either.
