Directv Tivo receiver

I have a Samsung Directv/Tivo receiver. We got it 3 years ago before Directv went with their own DVR. A few months back we upgraded to Directv HD and now my Samsung is sitting in storage collecting dust. I was wondering if it can be used as a stand alone Tivo with a terrestial signal or any other uses??
