Help- major problems Can't Post

I recently moved into my first home. I installed a dish on my house that i had. Its a triple LNB oval dish. I ran 4 wires to a grounding block and then ran them to my basement into a 5x8 multi switch. Then to my single TIVO box. Everything worked perfect from september to may and then I lost satellite B (lost local channels).... I figured since there was a tree somewhat close and the leaves had blossomed, it was just blocking my dish. The tree was then cut down and still nothing (No B)... I went up and repositioned the dish and still NO B. I figured the LNB was bad. I just replaced the LNB and I got B for maybe a min. Then I couldnt get C, and then C came back.... then I was guessing its my multi switch so my father brought his over and it still didnt work. I then bypassed the multi switch.... on the 4 wires coming from my dish, wire one I could only get satellite A & C. Wire 2 I only got B & C, wire 3 I only got A & C and wire 4 I only got C & D. Now my dad took his multi switch back home and now it does not work!!!

Could my box be bad?? and back feeding to blow a multi switch? I think my box worked fine when i tried it at my dads a few weeks ago.

Any idea whats going on??? I am ripping my hair out!!! HELP

With a triple lnb sat dish you can only see and get 3 sats ( 101 main , 110, and 119 ).

The 4 four lines are for four different inputs. ( 4 receivers or 2 dvr/tivo or any combination of, or even just one single lone receiver. So you shouldn't be receiving only / different sats with each cable. They should give you the same results , no matter which one you are trying.

How are you running 8 sat/ coax lines into one dvr/tivo?

Is it a Directv DVR with tivo ?

Why are you using a multi switch for just one sat receiver?

Try unplugging your sat receiver ( disconnect every thing connected to it ) overnight or 10 hrs. It will do a hard reset.
Then run a single coax line from the grounding block directly to your sat receiver.

I am running the 4 wires off the LNB from the roof to my basement. There they are going into a multi-switch. From there the wires are running to different rooms of the house.

At this time I only have a single TIVO box hooked up in the living room(2 wires from the multi switch. Plan to add more boxes to bedrooms and garage.

So far I have tried a new LNB, a new multi switch, and a different box. When I tried the new multi switch (which was my parents- and they took it back home and hooked it back up it doesnt work now). I have even bypassed the multi switch completely.

This is excatly how i understand it to work.... and cant figure out what in the world is going on.... I just tried my parents box and its doing to the same thing.... except now I dont get satellite B at all. I get A (98% signal) and C (96% signal) on all lines........

Try running a single coax from the lnb directly to the receiver.

If you get all 3 sats then you know the dish is aimed correctly and the lnb is good.
Then add the grounding block, if no signal lost. We know the grounding block is good.

The idea is to get one receiver working, then add annother until you find the problem.

Also check those coax cables to other rooms with no receivers, make sure there is nothing exposed to cause a short. That would explain the multi switches going bad.

Good luck
