Help Installation Nightmare Can't Post

My sister is getting a divorce. So she let the husband keep it in his name for the football package rate they had locked in. They already had direct Tv installed. So direct Tv said fine we'll make you a new customer and even give you a free HD upgrade.
So they sent the guys out to install it because I guess you need a different dish for HD. They already had the dish installed nicely tucked away of the side of the house out of view. So rather than switching the dish's out. These morons without even asking if she wanted it moved. Took the old one down and put another dish right smack dab in the middle of the roof. The whole neighborhood can see it. She's lives in a nice neighborhood where the home owners are anal and she's already gotten a letter. They drilled holes in the roof to. It will probably leak when they take it out. The cables are just laying on the roof running down to the side of the house. Nice especially with Hurricane season on the way in Florida.
As for the inside. They said you need different cables for HD. Last time they installed the direct Tv they hid the cable's behind the wall on her Panasonic Plasma. They said they won't do it that's custom installation. That night after they left the PLasma was fried won't work. I'm sure they installed it wrong.
This was a contractor direct TV uses. There was two guys. They could barely speak english. It took them 3 hours to do it also.
Do you think Direct TV will take care of my sister for the damages? or will it be an endless circle with their claims department? This sucks.

First thing is to call Directv and file a complaint. Document who you talked to and what they told you. Be sure to mention that the dish is installed in the middle of the roof and is at risk for a lightning strike. And for roof damage from high winds pulling the dish out of the roof.

Directv should correct the install of the sat dish.

You should get a lawyer and file a lawsuit for the damaged plasma.

As for the plasma fried? How did they damage the plasma?

After seeing the install job, do you want them near your walls to run the cable.

A HD receiver requires a HDMI , DVI or Component video cables for HD.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah she was on the phone with direct TV for over and hour and a half. Filed the complaint form's and damage claims. I went over and took pictures of EVERYTHING. These clowns did a number. There was no reason to move the dish in the first place. When they put the new dish in they ripped up shingles and I went into the attic and they drilled all they way thru. When they take the dish out there's no doubt the roof will leak.
As for the plasma. As I said before the first install they hid the cables on the Plasma, Now they are just hanging down the wall. After they hooked it up and left my sister turned of the Plasma. The next Morning nothing it's dead. Now power at all. Everything's plugged in and connected. The Tv's dead. There's never been any problem with the TV until these moron's re wired and re hooked it up.
This was one of the CONTRACT companies direct TV use's. Direct Tv is coming out to fix it and look at everything. I can't wait till they see it. They moved the dish to freaking dead middle of the roof and the cables are just laying on the roof running down over the side of the house. The inside how the TV is wired is even worse.
This is such BS and a lot of uneccessary DAMAGES. All they had to do is swap the dish's out and never move the location. If they had to move it you should ask if you can put it on the roof instead of just doing it. Now the roof's F uped for sure. If you are going to error. Error on the side of caution. Don't F up the roof and put it on a stand in the back yard. Common sense would tell you when you go into the neighborhood every one keeps their yard and house nice and a satellite mounted right in the middle of the roof for everyone to see. Plus that would last two seconds in a Hurricane in FL. UNBELIEVABLE.
