Intermittant signal drop-out Can't Post

Hello, I have recently had to move my three LNB dish to make room for a new garage. I moved it, tuned it, and it was working just fine for about a month. Now I am experiencing intermittant signal drop-out. The signal will bounce from mid-high 80's or 90's on all three sats and then drop to zero and back and forth. I have checked all of the connections and they seem to be good. I'm thinking bad LNB. There are no splitters involved although I did have to lengthen my lines when I moved the dish. (again these connections appear good). My line of sight is not the best looking but I have not had problems in the past. Am I correct in assuming that a line of sight problem would not cause intermittant signal drop? There are no limbs/branches involved. Any info is appreciated.

Thanks,

Craig

Line of sight shouldn't be the problem.(either you see the sats or you don't)

Best guess is a bad connection, proably when you extended a wire.

The lnb going bad would be my last choice.

What did you use to connect the two cables to extend it?

Could moisture have gotten into it?

Thanks for the reply, I used the connector that connects two female ends together. I unearthed them, unwrapped them and they appear clean and dry. I have two lines running from the dish to the block at the house and then under the house to the two receivers. They both are dropping out at the exact same time. That is why I am leaning towards the LNB. I have been unable to find a triple LNB locally, so I think I will try one on Ebay.

Thanks,

Craig

Re: [TANK1] Intermittant signal drop-out [In reply to] Can't Post

Thanks Tank. I was in Best Buy on Monday. The guy tells me that they don't sell the LNB's but did not mention that I could buy the whole dish w/o a receiver. Seems like almost everywhere I go I get lousy service. I ordered one on ebay last night. It should be here in a couple of days. Hopefully, this will fix it. BTW, I now have no signal at all. Thanks for again for your help!
