Ka or not Ka ? Can't Post

I'm currently a DirecTV customer with a round 18" dish (dual feed) pointed at the Ku 101 bird. We own several non-HD receivers. We have recently purchased a HD TV and have been thinking about upgrading our DTV service.

I've checked out the channel listings for each bird and it appears that the Ka satellites carry mainly local HD programming, and I don't see any local St. Louis HD channels listed. I can receive the locals OTA at my location.

Should I go with the AU9-S dish that receives the Ka/Ku bands or just the triple LNB dish that receives the Ku band only? I understand the AU9-S is more difficult to install.

Where will DTV be adding additional non-local channels?

Thanks!

D* is launching two sats this year and they claim to be adding over 100 more HD channels in 2008.

A lot will be sports channels ( hd channels for the NFL,NHL,NBA,MLB etc pay sports packages )

You can see if they offer your local HD channels here-

You want to add this sat dish- DirecTV SlimLine AU9 KaKu 5 LNB HD Dish

If you call D* they will install at little or no cost to you when you upgrade to an HD receiver.
