Local Channel Waivers Can't Post

I just had Direct TV installed and didn't realize that I wouldn't be able to get ABC, NBC, CBS or Fox unless I used a regular antenna/rabbit ears. I thought that "local tv" meant the stations in my area, not the entire network...geesh.

Anyway, when I called and complained they said they'd run a waiver so I could get out of area network channels and that that could take up to 45 days. Has anyone EVER been granted such a waiver and if so, why would Direct TV have to process a waiver for every new viewer in an area?

Reddeath65...

Thanks for the info...exactly what I was hoping to hear. I'd seen a post by you concerning this when I was checking the archives...also saw that TANK1 had PM'd you about getting local channels out of LA/NY...did you ever contact him? I'd love to go ahead and get 'em for my wife...this is driving her nuts...and if she's nuts, so is my life.Smile

Yes i did hear from Tank1, this site has been down for awhile so it might take him some time to come back
What I did was kinda complicated, it used to be alot easiar then it is now, if you know someone in the NJ and NYC area helps alot, what i did was call up Direct Tv movers connection and give them a address in NJ, the networks for NY and LA are sent to all over the USA, so we can pick them up here. give them the new address and you need your service turned on and moved, they will ask you if you would like the bill sent to somewhere else and you tell them yes and give them your address in Gulfport, you won't get the other channels in that area because they are spot beamed, but they will will show up on your Tv as searching for satalite signal and your tv might give you eastern time as will your lineup guide
