Local Channel problem	Can't Post

When my direct tv was first installed the local channels would periodically have reception problems and over a month or so this got worse and worse. Now all I have for all local channels is a blank screen with no audio. Note: This is only in my room. The other 2 rooms with direct tv boxes local channels work fine.

Ive tried getting help from direct tv support and the only thing they want to do is get me to pay them for a service call which I will never do. However I did have them send me a new reciever for free which fixed nothing.

Sounds like the one access card dosen't have the information to turn on the locals, since you get them on the other receivers

Try a hard reset on the receiver in the room with problems.
Unplug everything ( electric, cables, coax in from sat dish ) take out the access card.
Let sit for a few hrs and connect everything again, this might fix the problem.

If not call Directv and ask for tech service dept. Ask them to reflash your access card.
This sends the information to the card, and this should activate the locals.
