Making the DVR call with VOIP? Can't Post

I have Speakeasy Voice Over Internet and I have not been able to get my Hughes TIVO box to make the "Daily Call" into Direct TV.

Has anyone figured out how to get the Hughes DVR to make the daily call into Direct TV?

I have been on the phone with Direct TV and Speakeasy VOIP and have not been able to get the DVR to connect.

I have tried the 212 area code and the 212 277-3895 Prefix number and ,#034 entered into the call waiting.

Is there anything else I can do to get this working, or is there a work around?Frown

You know you really don't need to make a call to dtv daily or at all for that matter, so dont worry about it you can still use all your dvr functions.

The Techs at Direct TV have told me the DVR will start to loose "functionality" and will not know when programs are coming on / scheduled.

The DVR has not made a sucessful cal since early Aug., it seems OK so far.

If I could get it to work, I would like to.

I caught a remnant of a conversation where one person connected the serial port of the DVR to their computer to over come this VOIP issue. but there was not a lot of detail.

Thanks for your thoughts!
