New receiver blinks off periodically

Just upgraded to used HD receiver, triple LNB. Everything works good except every 15-40 mins. the picture blinks off. The odd occasion it kicks off and shows call customer service at 745 or something similiar and I have to unplug and reboot. I thought it was an overheating problem but it is well vented. Whats causing this problem?
