Satelitte set up for HD on local channels Can't Post

Hi everyone - just joined, this is my first post:
I just upgraded my service to HD/DVR through DirectTV. They sent a tech out to install the receiver and the new 5 lnb dish. The tech said that I had trees blocking the access to the local channels HD satellites. He installed a 3 lnb dish which gives me HD on the other channels like ESPN. The tech is a sub contractor and will not go higher on my roof to install the 5 lnb dish. He did indicate that I could hire someone else who would sell me a new dish and mount it higher on my roof. This does not seem right to me. Does anyone know of another solution?
Would a off air antenna work?
My neighbor has the old style dish and gets HD on some of his local channels - he said that he had to fill out a form that Direct TV than sent to ABE, NBC, CBS & Fox requesting that they send him the HD signal - CBS & Fox said yes, the others said no. This doesn't really make any sense to me but I thought I would add the info.

Thanks

You need the 5lnb dish for the HD locals and any new HD channels D* adds this year.

I would call D* and say this is unacceptable and have them send someone out to install an 5lnb dish.
