Two locations one account Can't Post

Hi, I am new to this Forum. I would like to buy Direct TV for my home in Orlando. Can I install another dish in my cottage in Niagara Falls, Canada (just across the border from Buffalo) and hook up a receiver from Orlando? I understand i can get most of the programming, but what I really want is NBC, CBS, ABC etc. I don't really care if i get the orlando local channels, but can i get local Buffalo or any of the National feeds? Thanks, JR

No the only way would be a over the air antenna ( regular tv antenna ) if you could get a signal from Buffalo NY.

Why not get get Star Chioce from Canada and set up a dish in Florida and get Star choice in FL

Thanks for the suggestions. Over the air antenna won't work very well in Niagara. I don't want Canadian programming w/Starchoice. If i bring my receiver from Orlando, will i get any national channels (ABC, CBS etc)? Is there a way i can get feeds from NYC or Atlanta or ???
thanks
J

No you will not get any networks because you are only elible for the Orlando local channels and once you leave that that limited area you can't get them .
They are on a spot beam which only covers the central Florida area.

A friend claims that he's sharing one Direct TV account between two households, and they split the monthly bill.
The two houses are about 5 miles apart. The friend has a 3 LNB dish on his house and a Hughes TiVO DVR.
Can this be done, or is he blowing smoke?

Yes it can be done, if a receiver isn't connected to a phone line. D* has no idea where that receiver is actually located.
