Using + HD DVR to record ota signal Can't Post

I just got direct tv with the plus hd dvr reciever, but of course direct tv doesn't offer locals in hd in my area. I have an antenna that picks up all the channels i want. Is there any way to hook the antenna up to the dvr and have it recieve them as my local channels and record them?

Yes connect the antenna to the jack labeled OFF AIR IN .

Go to set up in the guide and select Satellitte & Antenna

Primary Local Network and add your zip code.

What if you have one of the new + HD DVR's that dont have the off air in on the back? All my receiver has is two sat ins on the back. There are no other inputs at all. Is there anything I can do to get my local channels in HD on my receiver?

Thanks for any help.

For the new HR 21 HD DVR you need to add a AM 21 over the air tuner

I would call Directv to see if you could get a better price, some on the internet have said it was only $50 from Directv

They are telling me that I need the HD Access in order to get the AM21 tuner. Thats an extra 10/month. I asked why I would need that because I already have the HD capability. So far, no one has provided a good answer. The tuner doesnt give me any extra channels, it just allows me to fully enjoy the equipment I already have.

Has anyone else run into this issue?

And 20 minutes later, they realize that I am right, and I do not need the HD Access. Then, they tell me that the tuner is new and they can't put in an order on their system, but I can get it at any local Best Buy. Well, there are 2 Best Buy's within 30 minutes of me, and neither one has any clue about it. Also, it's not on the Best Buy website. How do I go about getting one? Who can I talk to at Direct TV that will know how to get me one?

I have purchased items from 2000 networks and they are authorized dealer for Directv-

Or ask Directv to swap your HR21 HD DVR for a older model HR20 HD Dvr ( they have the ota tuner included).
