how to tell if multiswitche is bad? Can't Post

I'm using a Dtivo, and have 2 dishes, 1 for local channels. it finds only one sat on sat 1 but finds both on sat 2, I had a old LBN so I changed that- no help
I have unhooked and rehooked everything. I hate to buy one and thats not the problem. It worked fine then just lost the signal all of a sudden. It sees 101 and 72.5 on sat2
and just 101 on sat 1. any help?

Try bypassing the multi switch. You can get a coax coupler from Radio shack fo about $1.50.

Try the coax from each sat one at a time.Check signal strenghth on each sat.

The one sat 72.5 should give you the locals only,if you get them. Then you know the sat is aligned with a strong signal, the coax and connectors are also good.

Then repeat with the other sat after unhooking from the first sat.

This should isolate your problem for you.

Here's a link for the couplers, you just need the cheapest, since it will be for temporary use.
