receiver number...where to find?	Can't Post

hi, we're currently getting direct tv and we can't find the reciever number. we do not have a card for it as we bought it used. where can we find the number???

ID numbers are on a metal plate on the back of the reciever.

You need the model number and a serial number to get a new card.

The new card costs $20.

\You can get a new basic reciever with a new card for $39-$49.

thanks. unfortunately, my boyfriend thinks that the person who sold it to us either got it from someone and it was stolen or they took the number off because they had an illegal card. i didn't even know people made cards...lol. anyway, thanks for your help....
