switching local channels Can't Post

I just tried switching local channels. I called direct tv and gave them a second address. They switched them for me, but they didn't work. My locals come from Duluth Mn now. I tried to switch to Rhinelander-Wausau Wi. because I live in Hurley, Wi. The local package from Park Falls, Wi have Rhinelander- Wausau locals which I used that address. Park Falls is only 30 miles from me. Any idea why they wont work here? Do I need to point my dish different or is that spot beam just not getting here?

The Wausau locals are on the sat @ 72.5 . They are consus - which is a non spot beam type signal.
You need a 2nd sat dish pointed at the 72.5 sat to receive those channels.

Thanks Tank1, I forgot to mention before that I have a slimline dish and an H20 Receiver. If I use my old round dish pointed at that satellite and use a splitter will this work?

Thanks again Tank1. Once I point my old dish (second) in the proper direction and install the multi switch and have direct tv resend the locals I should be able to receive these with no problem, correct?

Should work if you repoint towards the 72.5 sat.

I would worry more about Directv. If you have "moved " then moved back and now want to "move " again within a short time frame, that might cause a problem.

I told them that I have two homes that I move back and forth from and I take my receiver with. It was no problem. I have a Trunkline MOD-35-TRDTV48 4X8 multi-switch and was wondering if that would work? Also what general direction do I point the dish to get started? Is that 72.5 degrees from north?

Was that multiswitch installed when you got the 5lnb sat dish ? If so, there should be no problems. Try it and see if it works.

Go to this site-

http://www.sadoun.com/...ading-Calculator.htm

Select sat - AMC-6 ( that sat is at 72, it might be the same sat and Directv bought it and renamed it or it will get you real close )

Enter your longitude and latitude.

Good Luck
