When you lose your sat signal ( searching for signal ) it is usually because something rain or rain cloud blocks the signal from the sat.

Since the sat dish is facing SE , only rain or heavy rain clouds from the SE will block the signal.

It takes a strong rain or heavy dark cloud cover to lose the signal. Signal lost only lasts a few minutes.

I live in Central Florida and have not lost a sat signal , even with the rains from TS Ernesto.

If your dish is securely mounted and moves from strong winds, you will lose your signal.

But a properly mounted and connected sat dish and coax connectors, should not give any sat signal lost.

It is a cable myth that the sat signal is lost every time it rains.

When it rains in Florida in comes in a solid wall of water and in 9 years have only lost signal for longer than a few minutes a handful of times.

There is no poor reception.

With sat service either you have a picture or nothing.

sounds like the LNB is not aligned properly on your dish. you should not lose signal in poor weather with a properly aligned dish and LNB
