HD Upgrade Can't Post

I am interested in the DirecTV vs Dish Network battle. How much is it for HDTV service from Dish Network? Does the box cost me money? I'm not waiting 45 minutes on hold for this.

Re: [Klein] HD Upgrade [In reply to] Can't Post

I'm waiting for an upgrade to HDTV soon too. From what I can tell, both Dish and DirecTV's HDTV boxes cost money. About $1000 for both companies with DVR ability, which is what I'm looking at. No DVR is cheaper, but I don't know how much. Hit their web sites for more info.

One positive I can say about Dish is that they now offer ZOOM HDTV Programming. Some of the best available right now. Cheap monthly for that too. (I think it was only $5 extra.) Dish is also expected to increase their HDTV programming a lot in the near future.

Personally though, I can't wait until the 2012 year gets here and HDTV is supposed to be the defacto standard. Don't worry, I'm not holding my breath on this one.
