Newbie: Dish Hack Help

I'm a new Dish Owner, and altough I fairly happy with the service I would like to play around with "hacking" and was wondering if someone could provide me with a little of newbie knowledge as to the various options there are available.
Specifically I just really want to be able to get a Portuguese channel to watch soccer... but unfortunately to get it you have to get the sign up for various other things that get really expensive.... so i figure a simple "hack" for one channel is not so bad. Thanks for the help.
