computer does not recognize atmega programer

[crazy]Runing Jeepers DX, Atmega 128 for Dish with windows 2000. When I try to open and run Jeepers, Canot get past "Failed to enter program mode", Whatever I try to do, Read , Write, Clean, Get sane message. Seems like computer is not recognizing program or programer. There is no any , That I can find, to select Parallel port for programeer. Have selected tjhe only choiscs in Jeppers, under preferences to no avail. Tried BIOS setup also, set to bidirectional. Nothing seems to work ...... Programer and program work on another computer(friends) but not on mine . PLEASE any suggestions welcome
