Hi Dave!yes i got a replacement viper50 at a place called Sayal electronics in waterloo ont.they have different stores around ont.i also had to replace R5010 15 ohm surface mount resistor with a 1/4 watt color coded one i know it,s working because my father is using it and everything is working fine now.i,m pretty sure nte electronics has a replacement.the viper50 is manufactured by STM electronics and i don,t think you can buy just one from them.it,s more like to get one you have to buy a hundred.check out your local electronics parts distributers and they may have replacement.where do you live? Bob!

Hi Bob !!!
Great information! I've contacted Sasal and also NTE. I'll await their reply. I bought a Dish Network from an Apache indian family only to find out that one of their young boys made a spit ball out of a gum wrapper (aluminum) and tucked it into the little slot on the botttom. My work bench looked like the local disco for a few seconds.
I live in a little town in Arizona called Show Low (yes, from a card game) atop the White Mountains at 6000' elevation.
Thanks for your help Bob. I was about to give up
Dave

you must get a great signal way up there.i live in london, ont.canada which is below sea level on the thames river.thats in the history books.(battle of the thames and greatest inland maritime disaster)i hope that gum rapper didn,t do any other damage to the receiver.if you mean the slot under the receiver where you put the jtag it may have corrupted the tsop.keep me posted if you have any problems.Good Luck.Bob!
