Headset use on big screen

Headset use on big screen	Can't Post

My friend has a Mitsubishi 52", 2 year old set. We were trying to use my wireless Sennheiser 120 but the set speakers turn off when the headset is used. Is this common with all large screens (thin) sets? Is there a small amp available that would work? or any other help welcome.

it's common to mute the tv sound when you plug in a headphone jack. you could run the audio out jacks on the tv to a stereo amp and use the headphones from the amp.that way the tv keeps its own sound going

I think an easier and cheaper fix is to change the female jack. When you insert the male jack it mechanically breaks the circuit to your speakers. You need a female jack that does not open the speaker circuit.

What are you using for your signal source? For example are you using a cable box or satellite etc. to feed to your TV? If so, connect your headphones to the audio out on the cable box or Satellite. -- Dan
