Hitachi #CU5002K Big screen TV	Can't Post

A friend just gave this tv to me. When I hook the cable to it, the picture has lots of static. When I run the cable through my VCR and into the TV via the RCA plugs, the picture is perfect. What could it be? I am at a loss.

i have the exact same model tv, and the exact same problem. the cause is the 3 cable hookups in the back of your tv. you would have to replace that box which costs up to 100 dollars. your best bet is to just run it through the vcr. but, now i have a question. do you know how to adjust the color knobs that fold out from the front of the tv?

your set needs the tuner replaced, part is No Longer Available because that set is an oldie, use it the way your doing it now and enjoy the few years it has left in it.
