Popping Noise when T.V. is in use.

 We are having a problem with our 1999, Phillips Maganvox, 55" Color Projection T.V. Since we purchased this T.V., about once a month it would pop and the picture would fade to almost black and then back on. It only takes just a second. Well, now that we have had it a few years, it has started popping and fading for a moment a few times a day, (whenever it is on). Has anyone experience this problem....and if so do you know what it may be, and how it can be fixed. Thanks....
